MARCH 12 UPDATE: Georgia Tournament Canceled

The Georgia Destination Imagination leadership team has been monitoring the rapidly evolving Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation. With the recommendation of Destination Imagination HQ, and with current developments from Gwinnett County Public Schools, we are making the difficult decision to cancel our Affiliate Tournament, scheduled for March 21, 2020.

We recognize that our teams have worked extremely hard all year, and we were looking forward to seeing their amazing performances, but it’s more important to us that the student participants, supporters, and volunteers remain safe and healthy.

The Destination Imagination experience is always about the journey, the knowledge we’ve learned, and the friendships we’ve made. With this in mind, we at GADI are hard at work on a way for our teams to showcase their creativity and share their hard work with the world. So, DO NOT DESTROY YOUR PROPS OR COSTUMES!

We will continue to update in the coming days, and we appreciate your support and understanding during this difficult time. You can stay in touch with us on our website, or our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DIGeorgia).

Creatively,

The GADI Leadership Team

MARCH 7 UPDATE

We at Georgia Destination Imagination are closely monitoring the details around the Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation, so we can respond accordingly. Our primary concern is for our students and our volunteers during our affiliate tournament.

We are closely monitoring the recommendations coming from the Gwinnett County Public School System, Gwinnett County Health Department, and Georgia Department of Health.

At this time, our affiliate tournament will take place as scheduled on March 21. GADI will take on-site actions at our events, including hand sanitizer stations, and encouraging that “elbow bumps” replace handshaking and fist bumps. These actions will evolve as the situation demands.
