Our Vision

To teach students the creative process and empower them with the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

To develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills and creativity.

The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.

Destination Imagination, Inc. was incorporated in 1982 when we took over the charter for the OM Association, Inc. In 1999, our name was changed to Destination Imagination, Inc. Since then, our non-profit has impacted more than 1.5 million participants. Today, more than 150,000 students participate in Destination Imagination program each year, with the support of more than 38,000 volunteers worldwide.  Our Georgia affiliate of Destination Imagination started in 1999 are part of the inaugural launch of the new organization.

Through collaborations with NASA, 3M, Disney, Motorola Solutions Foundation, Oracle Academy, Mayo Clinic, Project Management Institute Educational Foundation, ShareSpace Foundation, PCG Education, National Geographic, U.S. Space & Rocket Center®, Partnership for 21st Century Learning, and other industry organizations, DI has been able to continue inspiring and engaging its participants for more than 30 years.
